MWASW_INV ( version 1.0 Download here) is a MATLAB program of surface wave inversion that can directly invert surface wave dispersion data, estimated using multiscale spatial window analysis, to 2D S-wave velocity without the assumption of the horizontally layered model. In this program, a forward algorithm of multi-station surface wave dispersion curve is used to calculate the theoretical dispersion data; the total variation (TV) regularization (Rudin et al., 1992) is employed to stabilize the inversion process and preserve sharp edges in the retrieved Vs model; and the multifrequency data weighing (Hu et al, 2009) is utilized to prevent the high-frequency data from dominating the inversion process.
